Painter of the Night | Live Action

Beloved BL manhwa #야화첩 (Painter of the Night) by Byeonduck is officially being adapted into a live-action short-form series, with each episode running approximately two minutes. The project is currently in the audition stage and gearing up for pre-production, with filming scheduled to begin in June.

Set against the rich, moody backdrop of the Joseon Dynasty, the story unfolds through the eyes of Yoon Seungho, a nobleman infamous for his insatiable lust and dark charisma. His obsession with the erotic art of Baek Na-kyum, a low-born yet gifted painter, ignites a dangerous entanglement of desire, dominance, and deeply buried emotions — a tangled tale of power and passion between two men across the rigid divides of class and duty.

Since its debut in 2019 on Lezhin Comics, Painter of the Night has captivated readers across the globe, reigning as the platform’s top BL title for over five years. The upcoming adaptation has been preliminarily rated 15+, though select episodes may receive a 19+ rating due to the original manhwa’s explicit adult content.
